AREA IMPROVEMENT RESEARCH
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Located on the Pacific coast having most of the time warm sunny weather LA sounds like a dream city. Unfortunately it has another side of that paradise on the earth, some issues, which appear as a challenge, which are maybe not easy but possible to solve.
Being aware of unique historical style of the city with its beautiful Spanish architecture legacy, the improvement plan represents a long term conceptual idea, which doesn’t require to rebuild the city completely. It is possible to say that the city is a living organism and it is growing and changes over the time. So if the changes are inevitable why not to plan them ahead in the favor of the city.
The main idea of the plan is to reorganize the buildings structure around those historically important houses and to “move” all the business buildings and parking lots along the freeway.
PROBLEMS

• Lack of parks and outdoor spaces
There are not that many places on the earth, which has summer almost all the year around. And having such a beautiful weather most of the people are locked in their houses, in their offices and have to spend most of their time inside. To me It appears as a waste of a beautiful space.
SOLUTIONS
• Reconstruction
• Long term planning
• Traffic Reduction
To solve the traffic problem is possible by redesigning the city dividing it by sections or in other words creating the set of blocks,
which are including most of the major business branches and potentially having space for the one needed in future. Including schools groceries and other essential organizations. In this case everyday routine travel will be a walking distance.
On this Map you can see construction zone along the Freeway. That Zone consider to locate Skysсrapers and massive Industrial buildings. Which will serve as shield from the freeway, that cuts the noise and pollution.
Residential houses should not be located next to freeways. That’s exactly why people are forced to be locked in their dwellings. In order to use space more rational it’s better to locate next to the free way business buildings. That will help to solve at least two problems: first it will dramatically reduce the noise pollution from the freeway, serving as a sound barrier and second it will allow to leave the main transportation venues on its original place, without changing it, hiding it at the same time from the scenery and providing people with more comfortable and quite place to live.
This Diagram shows schematically future planning of the infrastructure. Where Residential Area and the Park in the center (Lake on the drawing), second set of circles are Groceries Stores and Small Businesses (and others, which are necessary in every day life, and third set of circles Skyscrapers are placed.
Living sections with the park in the middle with a lots of nature surrounded by skyscrapers building, which serve as a sound barrier from the freeway providing more clean and quiet space.
The residential area planned with all essential needs, including most of the companies in the office buildings, school, shopping centers, business center, health care center, grocery stores, restaurants, cafeteria, theaters, bars. And all this in the walking distance!

So imagine the picture of futuristic progressive, very green, quiet and clean city with a clean air. Skyscrapers with installed artificial
big scaled waterfalls, which refresh the city and make it aesthetic pleasant.
Vegetation grows everywhere and reflects multiple times in the mirrored surface of almost invisible due to that skyscrapers. Imagine
the concrete jungle, new city, where concrete is not competing and destroying the nature but supports and admires it, coexisting in
a futuristic harmony of a nature and technology…
To conclude, I can’t help mentioning that the parts of that mix we already have and this dream city is one step form reality. All we
need to do is just organize everything we already have in a better way! With technology we have right now, materials and design creativity we can create an incredible beautiful city.
